God is working in silence — Part 2

While I thought I was searching for my way,
God had already prepared my path.

For a long time, I could not understand why God seemed silent.
Today, I look back and see that He was already preparing
what I could not yet see.

I thought God was taking too Long —
but He was already preparing

Today, when I look back,

I realize how mistaken I was when I thought
God was not paying attention to my situation.

I was impatient.

I wanted the embassy to respond.

I wanted my plans to move forward.

I thought I knew what was best for my future.

But God could see farther than I could.

I wanted Portugal.

God had prepared Germany.

I was looking for a way to leave.

God was preparing a way for me to leave
at exactly the right time.

I thought the delay with my visa was an obstacle.

God was turning it into an instrument.

I thought the war had disrupted my plans.

But God already had a plan
in the middle of that chaos.

And I want to say this with the utmost respect:

Of course, I do not rejoice over the war
or the suffering it caused. Lives were shattered.
Families were separated.
People lost their homes and their loved ones.

But my testimony is simply that of a man
who discovered that God can continue

to accomplish His purposes even in circumstances
we cannot understand.

“And we know that all things work together
for good to them that love God,
to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
— Romans 8:28 (KJV)

I do not claim to understand everything God does.

I do not claim to know all His ways.

But I have learned to trust Him.

Because sometimes
God does not immediately give us what we ask for

because He is preparing something better
than what we asked for.

His plan was already written

Since that time, 

blessings have continued to unfold in my life.

And even today, 

I discover new expressions of His grace.

This testimony could never contain everything

God has done for me since then.

Nor could it tell the story of every person

He has placed along my path,

every door He has opened,

every danger He has protected me from,

and every situation in which I have seen

His hand at work.

When I look back on this story,

one passage from Psalm 37 has taken on
a very special meaning for me:

“Commit thy way unto the Lord;
trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.”
— Psalm 37:5 (KJV)

This is what I have learned:

Trust God,
even when you do not understand His silence.

Trust God,
even when the doors seem closed.

Trust God,
even when the road seems dangerous.

Trust God,
even when your timeline does not match His.

Because God is never late.

He acts at the right time.

“He hath made every thing beautiful in his time.”
— Ecclesiastes 3:11 (KJV)

Today, I can look back on that period of my life

and say with certainty:

I thought
I was searching for my way.

In reality, God was already preparing my path.

I thought
I was waiting for an answer.

God was already preparing the next chapter of my story.

I thought
my plan was failing.

But God was simply closing one door
so that I would not miss the one
He had prepared for me.

Do not despair

So, if you are going through a season
of waiting,
doubt,
uncertainty,
or silence,

there is one thing I would like to tell you:

Do not despair.

You may not yet see
what God is doing.

You may not understand
why certain doors remain closed.

You may wonder why
your prayers seem to go unanswered.

But God’s silence is not
His absence.

Keep believing.

Keep praying.

Keep moving forward.

And above all,

commit your way to Him.

Because the One who knows the end from the beginning
knows exactly when, how, and why
everything must happen.

And when His plan unfolds,

we often realize only in hindsight:

What we once called a delay

was actually preparation.

To God alone be all the glory.
